French Themed Christmas Ornaments
If you have been to France or are thinking of going in the near future these will give you a taste of the better known sites. We had a customer several years ago that gave her daughter an ornament as a hint of things to come when she graduated in June as they were giving her two weeks in Europe. A nice touch indeed and I am sure much appreciated.
Louvre Museum or simply the Louvre-is one of the world's largest museums, housed in the Louvre Palace originally built as a fortress by Philip II. Our Christmas ornament depicts it as it is today with the IM Pei glass pyramid added in 1989 to create a new entrance space to the museum. Visitors are awed by the scale of the piece sitting as it does in the Museums courtyard.

New Orleans was founded in 1718 by the French as Nouvelle-Orléans, under the direction of Jean-Baptiste Le Moyne de Bienville. The site was selected because it was relatively high ground along the flood-prone banks of the lower Mississippi, and was adjacent to the trading route and portage between the Mississippi and Lake Pontchartrain via Bayou St. John. From its founding, the French intended it to be an important colonial city. The city was named in honor of the then Regent of France, Philip II, Duke of Orléans.
This ornament celebrates the New Orleans of today.
